AN/PRC-343
The PRC-343, also known as the Personal Role Radio (PRR), is a very short-range UHF communication device carried by individual soldiers. It is robust, simple to operate, and designed for intra-squad communication with an effective line-of-sight range of approximately 500 meters.
The PRC-343 cannot interface directly with higher-powered VHF radios such as the PRC-152 or PRC-117F. It operates on 16 basic channels grouped into a single block, with a total of 16 blocks available—providing up to 256 channels.
